David is EP of Smithsonian Film
David will be an Executive Producer of a film for the new Smithsonian Networks about a worldwide effort to “barcode” every species on earth. The
project identifies a short sequence of DNA in organisms from Eagles to sunflowers so that samples can be quickly identified. There are a
surprising number of uses: to quickly I.D. Poisons and microbes in food and in nature; to catalogue vanishing species of fish and coral on reefs; to
quickly identify pathogens and parasites that might be health hazards; and more. Principal shooting runs in May and June in Washington, DC,
Central America, and Canada. Look for the finished film when the new Smithsonian cable channel launches this fall. Check out their website:
